ISTE Blog Post - Week 2

This week, our main focus was selecting and analyzing three learning management systems. By the end of the analysis, we selected the LMS we felt would best support our district and students.
We navigated this process through the creation of an evaluation grid and creating a compare and contrast graphic organizer. This analysis strongly supports the Analyst ISTE standard. By the end of this process, I selected Schoology as the LMS to use with my students. Schoology will allow my students to demonstrate and reflect on their learning using technology (ISTE 7a).
In one of our Monday readings this week, the focus was on troubleshooting technical issues with our students while teaching and learning remotely. Although this is an important issue to consider, it does not directly support the ISTE standards.
As long as districts and teachers stay vigilant in their remote learning plans, I still believe that the ISTE standards can be supported during online learning.
